African bushveld. As we embark on this mid-year journey, we invite you to join us in exploring the boundless treasures that Mabalingwe has to offer, and uncover the deep bond that links humanity with the untouched wilderness enveloping us.

LIFE IN THE TREETOPS:
The Giraffes of Mabalingwe

In the wide-open spaces of Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, the sight of giraffes is nothing short of breath-taking. These magnificent creatures stand tall and proud, effortlessly blending into the bushveld with their striking coat patterns. Watching them gracefully move through the plains and hills, reaching for leaves high above with their long necks, is a truly awe-inspiring experience. As symbols of the bushveld, Mabalingwe's giraffes embody the harmony between wildlife and their natural habitat, reminding us of the importance of conservation efforts to safeguard these magnificent creatures for generations to come.

EXCITING NEW ARRIVAL

We have a new addition to the Mabalingwe family—a baby ostrich has hatched! This little nugget is already a few months old and growing like there's no tomorrow. The level of adorable is through the roof! With Mom and Dad keeping a watchful eye nearby, this feathery wonder is guaranteed to grow up big and strong.

Did you know? A few days after hatching, a baby ostrich begins to leave the nest with its parents. By the time it reaches four months old, it starts to display its adult feathers, and by six months, it is nearly the size of its parents.

FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS

At Mabalingwe, we specialize in crafting unforgettable moments from the moment you step into our Reception to the moment we bid you farewell. Here are some of the extraordinary ways we've been making every moment special for our guests:

Fathers Day

December Holidays 2023

The December holiday season at the Resort was an absolute blast! It was a whirlwind of joy, laughter, and countless unforgettable moments for our amazing guests. We were thrilled to welcome folks from near and far, all seeking adventure and relaxation in the beautiful setting of Mabalingwe. Whether it was families craving some quality bonding time or adventurers ready to explore the wonders of Limpopo, our doors were wide open to everyone. Each guest was treated to the special magic and warm hospitality that Mabalingwe is famous for, making it a holiday season to remember!

Fathers Day

Christmas 2023

The holiday spirit was in full swing at Mabalingwe as our guests arrived, bringing with them heart-warming gifts for their children. To make the season even more festive, one of our fantastic staff members transformed into the legendary Santa Claus, spreading joy and personally delivering these thoughtful presents to the excited kids. This gesture didn't just bring smiles—it infused an extra dose of warmth and excitement into their holiday, crafting unforgettable moments that will be cherished forever.

Fathers Day

New Year

As a fun way to say goodbye to 2023 and kick off the New Year in style, each unit received a pair of sunglasses. It was a cool little gift to thank everyone for their stay and to get them pumped for the adventures ahead in 2024. So, whether lounging by the pool or hitting the trails, guests could rock their shades and soak up the good vibes of the new year in true vacation mode.

Fathers Day

Valentine’s Day

The Valentine's Day celebrations overflowed with affection, spreading love throughout every corner of the Resort. Upon arrival, each unit was greeted with a surprise—a "sweet temptation" Valentine's treat, adding a touch of sweetness to their stay. Plus, the excitement soared with one grand prize winner, earning an unforgettable experience: an elephant interaction for two, generously provided by Adventures with Elephants. This occasion was not only a celebration of love but also a testament to the spirit of generosity and joy that defines our community.

Fathers Day

Easter Weekend

On Easter morning, the Easter Bunny made an appearance, hopping joyfully from the Resort entrance to Reception and skipping past Kalahari Oasis and the Recreational area, spreading cheer along the way. An Easter egg hunt brought countless smiles as guests of all ages eagerly scoured the grounds in search of hidden treasures. To add to the festive spirit, each unit received a welcome gift—a packet of Hot Cross Buns—to enjoy and savour as they embarked on their holiday adventures.

Fathers Day

Mother’s Day

For Mother's Day, we went all out to make it a special occasion. We handed out wonderful gifts and provided a warm reception with delicious snacks for all the moms. We even took the time to decorate the Ingwe entrance gate to our main camp, adding a festive touch. To make the welcome even more personal, we used chalk blackboards to write heartfelt "Welcome MOM" messages, adding a charming and thoughtful detail to the celebration.

Womens Day Day

Blood Drive 2023

A blood drive was hosted on the Resort by the SANBS, with many of the guests and owners participating in the event.

The blood drive was organised, uniting everyone in a shared mission to support those in need of blood. The atmosphere was filled with compassion and solidarity as individuals stepped forward, understanding the profound impact their contribution would have on saving lives. It was a testament to the spirit of generosity and community that thrives within our Resort, leaving a lasting impression of hope and kindness.

Womens Day Day

CANSA 2023

The Resort held a CANSA-shavathon during the December holidays, with guests and staff, young and young at heart, helping the campaign. The spirit of unity was clear as our staff and guests eagerly participated, embracing the opportunity to show their support for this meaningful cause. Laughter and togetherness filled the air, highlighting the strength of our community coming together for the greater good.
